Join South Africa’s
finest wineries at the 2012 TOPS Gugulethu Wine
Festival
Join Mzoli Ngcawuzele
and Lungile Mbalo, co-founders and owners at
their ground-breaking festival and have the
time of your life!
Welcome to the 2nd annual Gugulethu
Wine Festival where you will be transported
to the wonderful world of wine and glamour with
wine and food pairing sipping and tasting your
way through 250 of South Africa’s best
and favourite wines.
In 2012, we are doubling the size of the main
wine exhibitor’s marquee as we anticipate
that at least 50 wineries will be bringing at
least 250 to 300 wines for visitors to taste
and we are expecting at least 3000 visitors
over the 2 evenings.
It doesn’t matter
if you are new to wine or are a connoisseur, the Gugulethu
Wine Festival has a wine or 4 that will best suits
your palette, which you can purchase and take home
with you.
This year we have free wine and food pairing classes
in the main marquee hosted by Nederburg. Using the
5 taste sensations, Nederburg winemaker will teach
you how to pair food groups with wine varieties so
that you can prepare and host the ideal meals or dinner
parties for your friends and family, plus impressive
them with your newly found knowledge. These classes
are in the main marquee.
Come and enjoy DJ’s from Heart FM, live entertainment,
a large food court, sponsored by TOPS at Spar, which
will host 3 local restaurants, and you can win trendy
prizes and giveaways and plenty more.
Dress to impress and be there
to experience the best that Gugulethu has to offer!

Glamorous
in Gugs
On the subject
of revolutions, Gugulethu was
the storming of the bottle store
in the Bastille. A tipping point
for local wine shows, the importance
of which cannot be overstated.
“I haven’t
had as much fun at a wine festival
for a long time. There was a party
atmosphere and such a
feeling of fun amongst the crowd
that even the scudding grey clouds
and spattering rain was not going
to dampen the … enthusiasm.
